Lina
Last updated: 5 September 2026
Lina ("we", "our", "the app") is a pregnancy and postpartum companion app. This policy explains what information the app uses, how it is used, and the choices you have. Lina keeps as little data as possible: your daily plan, check-ins, and logs live primarily on your device, and creating an account exists to let that same data follow you if you sign in on another device — not for advertising or resale.
Lina requires an account, created with an email address and password, or by signing in with Apple or Google. If you use Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier for your account and — only if you choose to share it during sign-in — your name and email address. We use this solely to authenticate you and to sync your profile, check-ins, and logs to your account so they're available if you reinstall the app or sign in elsewhere. We do not use your email to send marketing.
Your profile (stage, name, baby's age), mood check-ins, food log entries, and preferences are stored locally on your device and, once you're signed in, synced to a database tied to your account so nothing is lost between sessions or devices. This data is never sold, and is not shared with advertisers.
Lina uses OpenAI's API to power four features. Before any of these are used for the first time, the app shows an explicit consent screen naming OpenAI and describing what is sent; the features are not used until you agree.
In every case, the content is forwarded from our server to OpenAI solely to generate the response shown in the app; our own servers do not store this content after the request completes. Under OpenAI's API terms, this content is not used to train their models, and is retained only briefly for safety and abuse monitoring before deletion.
Lina uses a third-party product analytics service to understand how the app is used — for example, which features are opened and whether a daily check-in was completed — so we can improve it. Analytics events are tied to an internal account identifier, not your name or email, and are never used for advertising or sold to third parties. Lina does not use any advertising SDKs.
Lina requests camera and photo library access only so you can attach a meal photo for nutrition analysis. Photos are only accessed when you actively choose to attach one.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account, which permanently removes your account and all data synced to it. Uninstalling the app removes what's stored on your device but does not delete your account — use the in-app option for that. You can decline camera/photo access and still use the app's other features.
Lina provides general wellness and nutrition information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns. Where Ask Lina or the nutrition analysis states a general medical or nutrition fact, it links to the source (e.g. ACOG, WHO, CDC, MedlinePlus, USDA) directly under that reply.
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to the app's support contact listed on its App Store / Google Play listing.
